Before You Start: What You Need
Before beginning the installation, make sure you have the following ready:
- An Amazon Fire TV Stick (any generation — 4K Max recommended for best performance)
- Your IPTV subscription credentials from IPTVStream8K — server URL, username, and password
- Your Fire Stick connected to your TV and to the internet
- An Amazon account signed into the Fire Stick

Step 1: Choose Your IPTV Player App
Before installing anything, decide which IPTV player you want to use. Both of the following work well on Fire TV Stick and support Xtream Codes login — the format IPTVStream8K uses.
The best IPTV experience on Fire TV. TV-optimised interface, excellent EPG grid, strong hardware decoding support, and catch-up functionality. The free version is fully usable; a one-off premium purchase adds recording and multiple playlist support.
A capable free option that covers all the basics — live channels, EPG, and VOD via Xtream Codes. The UI is functional rather than polished, but it works reliably and is a good starting point if you prefer not to pay for TiviMate upfront.
Step 2: Enable Apps from Unknown Sources
Fire TV Stick does not carry TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro in the Amazon App Store, so you need to enable sideloading before installing either.
From the Fire TV home screen, navigate to the gear icon in the top navigation bar and select Settings.
Scroll to My Fire TV, then select Developer Options. On some Fire TV versions this is under Device rather than My Fire TV.
Toggle Apps from Unknown Sources to On. Confirm when prompted. This setting allows you to install apps not distributed through the Amazon App Store.
Step 3: Install the Downloader App
The Downloader app is a legitimate file-download utility available directly in the Amazon App Store. It is the standard tool for sideloading APKs on Fire TV and is used by millions of Fire Stick owners.
From the Fire TV home screen, use the search function and type Downloader. Select the app by AFTVnews (it has an orange icon) and install it.
When Downloader first opens, it will ask for permission to access the device's storage. Allow this — it needs access to save the APK file you will download.
Step 4: Download and Install Your IPTV Player
In the Downloader URL field, enter the direct APK download URL for your chosen player. For TiviMate, visit the TiviMate website from a phone or computer first to get the current APK URL, then type it into Downloader. For IPTV Smarters Pro, search for the current official APK URL the same way.
Downloader downloads the file and prompts you to install it. Select Install and wait for the installation to complete — usually under 30 seconds.
After installation, Downloader offers to delete the downloaded APK file. Select Delete to free up storage space on your Fire Stick. The installed app remains — only the installer file is removed.
Sideloaded apps appear under Apps → Your Apps & Channels → See All. To move it to the home screen, highlight it, hold the selection button, and choose Move to Front.
Step 5: Enter Your IPTVStream8K Credentials
Launch the app from your Fire Stick. On first launch, TiviMate prompts you to add a playlist. Select Add Playlist → Xtream Codes.
Type the server URL, username, and password exactly as provided by IPTVStream8K. The server URL includes the protocol prefix (http:// or https://) and port number. Copy carefully — credentials are case-sensitive.
TiviMate downloads your channel list and EPG data. This takes 1–3 minutes on the first load. Once complete, your full channel lineup appears organised by category, with the EPG guide populated.
Step 6: Optimise Fire Stick Performance for IPTV
These settings make a meaningful difference to stream quality and stability on Fire Stick — particularly for 4K content.
Enable hardware decoding in TiviMate
Go to Settings → Player → Decoder and select Hardware. If you experience a black screen, try Hardware (Media Codec) instead. Hardware decoding is essential for smooth 4K playback — without it, the Fire Stick's CPU handles video processing and cannot keep up with high-resolution streams.
Disable display sleep during playback
Go to Settings → Display & Sounds → Display → Display Sleep and set it to Never while using IPTV. The default sleep timer interrupts long viewing sessions.
Consider a wired ethernet connection
For 4K streams or during live sport, Amazon's official ethernet adapter for Fire TV Stick eliminates Wi-Fi instability. It connects via the USB-C power port on 4K models. Clear cache periodically
TiviMate and IPTV Smarters accumulate cache data over time, which can cause sluggish performance on the Fire Stick's limited storage. Clear the app cache monthly under Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → [App Name] → Clear Cache.

No. Enabling "Apps from Unknown Sources" in Developer Options is a standard, built-in Fire TV feature — not a modification or jailbreak. It does not alter the device's operating system or void your warranty. Millions of Fire TV Stick users enable this setting to install apps not available in the Amazon App Store. The process is reversible at any time by toggling the setting back off.
The most common causes on Fire Stick are: hardware decoding not enabled (go to Settings → Player → Decoder → Hardware in TiviMate); Wi-Fi signal instability (use Amazon's ethernet adapter for a wired connection); or the app cache being full (Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → TiviMate → Clear Cache).
